Today was Back-To-School Day for the “King Kids.”
Feeling like “old pros” at this now with one in Preschool, 1st, and 3rd grades, we have a set of Back-To-School Rituals to start the year right!
Whether we set a goal for the year, share some powerful affirmations (thanks Unstoppable Me and I Think, I Am), or close our eyes while breathing in some oldies (my kids love “Old School” Music…I mean real old school – Sister Sledge and Freddie Jackson classics. Control was on yesterday – I did the whole routine, which was amazing btw…
Even with the best preparations, someone is bound to have first day jitters, other than me.
As my husband and I got ready to leave, my 5-year old says in a voice I could barely hear without leaning in closely, “Don’t leave, I’m shy…” and cried the biggest horse tears her little eyes could make.
“Oh LiLi, everyone’s shy on the first day – that’s what makes it great!” I said, while wiping her tears.
“Give me the Pep Talk Mom…find it on your phone.”
Then I knew all was well.
Shyness instantly dissolved with an Iphone and what I’m about to share with you.
Since it’s Day 5, a day when both the newness wears off and the “why did I do this?” feeling runs through your mind when you smell something good to eat.
Or that person, place or thing you’re fasting from suddenly appears.
Yes, Day 5 is the perfect time for a Pep Talk.
Ok, anytime is a good time for this Pep Talk:
