Coming off the fast…
WOOHOO! We’re in the home stretch and as we prepare for the close of this fast, it’s time to look forward…to what we’re gonna eat!
In Episode 3 of the Pre-Fast Series, we talked about how ending a fast is as important as fasting herself :).
Come off the same way you come on.
Fresh, vibrant salads, easy to digest grains like quinoa and couscous, tomato-based soups AND soups of all kinds.
Give your body a full 48 hours before consuming any meat or dairy. These are mucus forming foods that we don’t want to reintroduce immediately following a fast.
Your gut is thanking me for that statement…trust me.
In a few days, I’ll post some recipes of simple meals that will taste so good, you won’t miss meat!
Of course I’m not a vegan pusher. I’ve changed my diet/lifestyle several times of the last couple of decades. When I lost 60lbs, I did it eating delicious steaks and more things I probably shouldn’t be talking to you about during the last days of this fast! (We’ll talk later:)
If you are making changes to your eating habits or lifestyle, now is the time to get your plan ready (grocery lists, recipes, support groups, online resources, etc.).
Resume your regular eating habits 4 to 5 days after the fast ends.
For now, grab a handful of blueberries to add a special sweet twist to a familiar green drink.
2 celery stalks
2 kale leaves
2 italian kale leaves
handful of blueberries
Cleanse and prepare all ingredients. Juice with a smile – it tastes better!
