Did you know the Buddha would have considered himself a cognitive therapist?
If I would have known THAT in my early days as a cognitive behavioral therapist, I probably would have been way more confident in the beginning (especially at the homeless shelter in the south bronx).
Buuut, I would not be a therapist at heart, if I didn’t share a little ‘treatment’ with you each week. Last week it was a Pep Talk from Kid President.
Today, it’s a message from a Tibetan Nun, who tells it like it is.
I found this video one night when I was using The Google to see if anybody had this new name I thought up for a workshop (Be Your Own Psychologist).
Sure enough, Google Themselves had something similar with the help of Ven. Robina Courtin, a very entertaining Australian-born Firecracker. She has a no-nonsense approach to Buddhism and exactly how you can apply these principles to your own mind, just as the Buddha did.
