Scanning The Body, A Guided Meditation
I had a completely different post ready for today, but while I was editing, I kept hearing this meditation.
It’s a bit weird because I hadn’t played this particular one in a while, but I heard it clearly.
It’s led by Ven. Connie Miller. You may remember her from Day 21 | Counting the Breaths.
Scanning the Body, or Body Scan Meditations as they are more commonly called, are one of the most powerful forms of meditation. The first being OTB, Observing The Breath.
Not to be confused with ODB, a former member of the Wu Tang Clan (it’s happened before…).
This method, the body scan, is often used medically because of it’s effectiveness.
I’ve used it to help clients heal past trauma, phobias, and severe anxiety.
It’s also used by doctors and patients before surgical procedures.
Note: Scientists have discovered that patients will generally experience less pain and recover faster when any form of meditation is practiced.
The length of this meditation is 12:08.
You may also listen to the Body Scan Meditation by MIT’s Community Wellness Center. This length of this meditation is 20:23.
You may notice that one causes you to feel more relaxed than the other – or you may like them both the same.
See for yourself!
Whichever one you choose, set an intention to stay alert and awake for the entire practice.
Write bedtime intentions for what you would like to experience tomorrow, sending good energy into your dreams and your day.
Here are a few I’ve written during our prosperity plan.
- It is my intention to be open and receptive to the power of forgiveness.
- It is my intention to see, feel, and experience everything as a gift.
- It is my intention to experience prosperity everywhere I turn and everywhere I go, easily and effortlessly.
Create 2 or 3, followed by 5 to 10 statements of gratitude.
Watch your day unfold with Increasing Joy!
Remember: Meditate on today’s prosperity principle once in the morning and again in the evening for 15 minutes.
Day 28 | Prosperity Principle of the Day
My consciousness of the Spirit within me as my unlimited Source is the Divine Power to restore the years the locusts have eaten, to make all things new, to lift me up to the High Road of Abundant Prosperity. This awareness, understanding and knowledge of Spirit appears as every visible form and experience that I could possibly desire.
